Privilègecatamarans

France · since 1985

Privilège is a French yard in Les Sables-d'Olonne that builds large sailing catamarans to order.

About the brand

The yard was founded in 1985 by Philippe Jeantot, a solo sailor and founder of the Vendée Globe race, originally under the name Jeantot Marine. The brand has changed hands several times since; from 2017 to 2022 it belonged to the German group HanseYachts, and since 2024 it has been owned by the Czech investment group PPF. Today's range consists of the Signature 510, 600 and 650, boats of roughly fifteen to twenty-one metres, with hulls by Marc Lombard and interiors laid out to the owner's brief. Alongside them the yard has announced a new 5X model but has not yet released its technical details.

In charter

Privilège rarely appears in charter fleets; most of these boats serve private owners, and when chartered they tend to be skippered voyages at the upper end of the price range. The weekly rate is markedly higher than for production catamarans of similar length, and the choice of dates and departure bases is narrow.
