About the brand

The brand was founded in 1964 by the engineer Michel Dufour, one of the first in France to set up series production of fibreglass yachts. The yard is now based in Périgny near La Rochelle and since 2018 has belonged to the Fountaine Pajot group while operating as a separate brand. It builds monohull sailing yachts, and the current range runs from the Dufour 37 to the flagship Dufour 54. On hull design it has a long-standing partnership with the Felci Yacht Design studio.

In charter

Dufour is a common brand in Mediterranean charter fleets, most often in lengths of around 12 to 14 metres. The boats are tuned more for sailing than for maximum volume, which helps in light wind but also means a harder ride into a sea and less storage space.
