Bavaria is a German yard that has built production sailing yachts and motor boats since 1978 at its inland plant in Giebelstadt.
About the brand
The company was founded in 1978 by Winfried Herrmann and Josef Meltl in Giebelstadt, Bavaria, near Würzburg. The boats are made in large series at a single extensive plant, which shows in both the price and the availability of spare parts. The current sailing range consists of the C-Line and Cruiser lines in lengths of roughly nine to sixteen metres, plus eLINE versions with electric and hybrid drive. The C-Line hulls are drawn by the Italian studio Cossutti Yacht Design, while the older Cruiser generation was designed by Farr Yacht Design.
In charter
Bavaria is among the most heavily represented sailing brands in Croatian charter fleets. The interior finish is simpler than on pricier production boats, and units used in charter tend to be more worn after a few seasons. What matters when choosing is therefore the individual boat and its year, not the brand itself.
